  • Notification of product: Economic plant-technology with the SBM-L G1S2

Economic plant-technology for two-sided, flexible deburring and edge rounding of sheet metal, stainless steel and aluminum.

The SBM-L grinding and deburring machines from Lissmac are dry operated. In alternate operation, metal, stainless steel and aluminum can be processed. The machines debur and round edges of exterior and interior contours of punched, laser fine plasma or water-jet cut workpieces of widths of up to 2,000 mm and thicknesses from 0.5 to 50 mm, on both sides, in just one work process. In addition, coated sheet metals can be processed.

Two grinding units, one on each upper or lower side, remove splashes and burrs. A total of four grinding belts, two on the upper and two on the lower side, simultaneously process the metal sheets on both sides. All edges are blunted or rounded, depending on the setting of the tools. According to Lissmac, simultaneous processing of both sides eliminates the need for time-consuming turning of heavy parts, and a two-sided processing therefore ensures a high level of productivity. The machine can be individually configured with relevant tools according to the customer's requirements.

All processing units can be turned on and off separately. All units travel into the change position and then back to the processing position by pressing a button, which allows a quicker changing of tools. The cross-machining principle guarantees optimum tool utilization over the entire working width. The feed speed is infinitely adjustable.

Comfortable operation thanks to intuitive user interface

The SBM-L machines are controlled via a touch panel. All operation information is clearly displayed; the operator language can selected. In addition, says Lissmac, the machine scores points in the work process with its intuitive user interface, high level of operating safety thanks to three password-protected user levels and an integrated program memory with a capacity of 10,000 data sets. A USB port allows for data exchange and the connection of components such as e.g. a barcode scanner.

The Siemens S7 control also allows for the connection of automation solutions, for example loading and unloading using robots, or the integration of the machine into existing production lines. In the machining process, all axles automatically adjust to the pre-set material thickness. Deactivated units remain in standby mode. Customers can expand the machine's scope of performance with additional options. These include automatic wear compensation for the grinding modules, electronic measuring of the material thickness, a barcode scanner, RFID user identification or machine and operating data recording.

All Lissmac grinding and deburring machines are prepared for remote maintenance and can be linked with each other through the conveyor and control technology used.

Finally, the machine is characterized by an improved working environment without flying sparks, dust, dirt, or noise, and its user-friendly ergonomics.

  • Universal grinding and deburring machine ensures flexible machining

Universal grinding and deburring machine ensures flexible machining of external and internal contours utilising a dry process

The SMD 123 RE from Lissmac is a universal entry-level machine for removing cutting burrs after laser processing, punching or plasma cutting. The single-sided system has been especially designed for deburring and uniformly rounding all workpiece edges on outer and inner contours as well as non-directional surface finishing of sheet metal utilising a dry process. Steel, stainless steel and aluminium can be processed.

The workpieces are automatically conveyed through the machine on a Powergrip conveyor belt. The feed rate is infinitely adjustable. According to the manufacturer, the Powergrip conveyor belt impresses with its high adhesive strength and makes a vacuum system unnecessary. This saves energy, enabling the processing of small parts, regardless of workpiece geometry. The parts are processed by a maximum of two units, which can be separately adjusted and activated.

Initially, a broadband sanding unit (R unit) removes raised burrs and surface splashes or creates a defined surface finish on the components. In a second stage, all workpiece contours are rounded uniformly on all sides with two rotor heads (E units), each equipped with two grinding flap rollers. The units can be adjusted and the feed rate can be regulated, depending on the desired machining intensity.

Innovative machine design offers multiple advantages

The grinding unit of the SMD 123 RE works at a synchronized speed and has a rubberized contact roller with a diameter of 160 mm, featuring grain compensation and an optical, non-contact grinding belt control system. It is driven by a powerful 15 kW motor. The cutting speed is infinitely adjustable from 2 to 18 meters per second and, according to Lissmac, can be optimally adapted to different applications.

The brush unit is equipped with two rotating brush roller units (E units), which process the sheets on one side. All edges can be evenly deburred or rounded - depending on the adjustment of the tools. The flexible lamellar rollers even allow components of varying thicknesses to be processed simultaneously.

In addition to uniform rounding of the edges on all sides thanks to the two rotor heads and the non-directional finish, the SMD 123 RE offers a number of other advantages for the user. For example, it is possible to create a surface finish without complex set-up work. The design of the system also allows the processing of formed components.

The separate activation controls for the processing units and the continuously adjustable sanding belt speed allow for a great deal of flexibility. Quick and easy retooling and the small space requirements of the system are further advantages. Last but not least, a touch panel facilitates the intuitive operation of the SMD 123 RE.

  • System for sheet metal slag removal, deburring and edge rounding

System for sheet metal slag removal, deburring and edge rounding in dry process

The SMD 132 Pluto from LISSMAC is characterized by its powerful processing of plasma and flame-cut parts. The sheet is freed of cutting slag, deburred and the edges rounded in a single work step in order to prepare it optimally for further processing.

The supple, highly elastic deburring roller — which has pneumatic suspension — allows distortion and tolerance compensation of up to 6 mm and works almost exclusively on the workpiece edges, thus protecting the part surface. A fibreglass film surrounding the flexible roll supports the overlying abrasive, ensuring longer service life and thus leading to reduced expenditure on abrasives.

Deburring of the cut edges is realized by two counter-rotating steel wire brush rollers, which have a diameter of 250 mm.

The powerful and reliable processing units guarantee reproducible results and can be switched on and off separately.

The system, which is also suitable for processing steel, has an integrated magnetic table, which also enables processing of small workpieces. A chrome leather belt above the magnetic table ensures that the workpieces are transported safely through the machine. The heat-resistant conveyor belt is highly resistant to temperature and sparks and allows immediate further processing of plasma and flame cut parts.

The SMD 132 Pluto grinding and deburring machine enables a thickness setting accuracy of 0.1 mm and variable feed speed. It also has a large, high-torque, rubberized conveyor belt drive drum and emergency stop control. This guarantees safety shutdown of the machine at the machine infeed and when opening the doors on the abrasive belt and drive side, as well as in the event of incorrect operation.

Reliable and economical in terms of operation and maintenance

According to LISSMAC, the SMD 1 models can be installed and made ready for operation in a short time. The compact design of the systems saves valuable production space.

Simple, intuitive operation of the machine ensures that employees quickly get to grips with the machines. According to the manufacturer, the robust design and good accessibility for tool changes, cleaning and maintenance also ensure low maintenance requirements.

Last but not least, a worldwide service and support network guarantees the highest possible machine availability and short reaction times.
