    • Development emphasizes the critical role of integrated software solutions in Bystronic’s mission to be a full solutions provider
    • Company establishes new Bystronic Lab in the Basque Country in Spain  

     

    Zürich, June 18, 2025.  Bystronic announced today the full integration of its Spanish software development company Kurago under the Bystronic Software brand.  Kurago, acquired in 2021, has led Bystronic’s digital transformation and created the Bystronic’s BySoft Software Suite, a complete software ecosystem that digitizes customer processes from quote to delivery.

    Following Bystronic’s restructuring and reorganization into a Systems Division and a Service Division this past year, the formation of the Bystronic Software group formalizes the key role software development plays in successful customer solutions and aims to accelerate technological advances in sheet metal processing. Customers benefit from having a deep level of technological understanding in Bystronic as a full solutions provider.

    “The integration of software capabilities into Bystronic’s Systems Division has progressed seamlessly. Unifying our identity under Bystronic Software reinforces our global vision and reflects the maturity we’ve reached in combining advanced machinery with automation and digital solutions,” said Domenico Iacovelli, CEO Bystronic Group.

     

    To accelerate the development of digital solutions, Bystronic is opening a new Bystronic lab in Derio (near Bilbao, Spain). The lab will house part of the Bystronic Software team as well as advanced machinery, automation and digital solutions experts. The lab will focus on unlocking the transformative potential of connectivity and data for the future of the sheet metal industry. Initially bringing together around 15 software experts, the lab is expected to be fully operational by early 2026.

     

    “With this additional Bystronic Lab, we are further expanding our software development capabilities and pleased to do it in the Basque Country, where we’re tapping into a strong industrial and innovation ecosystem that will help us lead the next wave of digital transformation in sheet metal manufacturing,” said Alberto Martinez, Head of the Systems Division at Bystronic Group.
